Probe on sales of hotel rooms
(02-19 11:12)

Lands Department said it is investigating whether the disposal of units in Apex Horizon All-Suite Hotel by Cheung Kong Holdings (0001) has involved with any breach of the lease terms and conditions. It refused to openly discuss the issue at this stage.
Cheung Kong's executive director Justin Chiu Kwok-hung welcomed the follow-up by the department, saying it can clear the doubts of buyers.
The first batch of 65 units were all sold out yesterday. The group has put another batch of 30 rooms for staff. If they are sold out today, the group will put up more flats -- with increased prices -- in the market later today.
Chiu said the group is not going against the government, stressing that it was a reasonable business decision.
