HK-China children abode rights urged
(02-14 19:35)

The Bar Association has urged the Secretary for Justice to ensure children born in Hong Kong to mainland parents will have legal representation in the upcoming right of abode case.
This comes after the government invited the Court of Final Appeal last year to seek a rare interpretation from Beijing on Hong Kong's residency laws, RTHK reports.
The Bar Association said the case would have "far-reaching repercussions on the right of abode of children born in Hong Kong to non-Hong Kong residents from the mainland," and affect their fundamental rights.
