Man gets jail time for burning dog
(02-14 13:11)

A man has been jailed for eight months for setting fire to his neighbour's dog after dousing it with paint thinner.
The animal was so badly injured that it had to be put down. The lawyer representing Mok Chung-tung, 31, said his client had acted in desperation as the dog had been barking incessantly for more than a year and kept him awake, RTHK reports.
But acting principal magistrate Li Wai-chi said a heavy punishment was necessary as Mok had acted in a "very cruel and inhumane" way.
