Nadal wins first singles after long absence
(02-07 11:23)

Former world No. 1 Rafael Nadal won his first singles Wednesday after a seven-month absence, beating Federico Delbonis of Argentina 6-3, 6-2 in the second round of the Vina Del Mar ATP tournament.
In the quarterfinals he'll face either compatriot Albert Montanes or Portugal's Joao Sousa, Xinhua news agency reports.
The Spaniard won his first doubles Tuesday with partner Argentina's Juan Monaco.
The 11-time Grand Slam champion, who was bothered by a lingering knee problem, had not played since June 28 when he was upset in the second round of Wimbeldon Open.
