New cross-border school area possible

The government is considering setting up a new catchment area, or school net, specifically for cross-boundary students. This is one of a number of measures that the Secretary for Education, Eddie Ng Hak-kim, says is now being studied to help ease the pressure on schools in the border area, RTHK reports.
But he admitted that the increasing number of students crossing from the mainland would mean some children in North District would be without a school place there this year.
