ESF launches new admissions policy
(02-04 13:04)
The English Schools Foundation has announced a new admissions policy under which priority will no longer be given to children who don't speak Cantonese or read Chinese.
The ESF says its new policy -- effective from this August -- will emphasise the actual testing of the child's English language proficiency. Priority is to be given to children of full-time ESF staff and then siblings of other ESF students, RTHK reports.
The ESF also says students of its kindergartens will also no longer receive priority for an interview. ESF says it believes its revised policy is more transparent and fair to families with an English language background.
