HK retailers pull in HK$445b

Hong Kong retailers logged moderate growth in 2012, with total sales surging 9.8 percent from 2011 to HK$445 billion.
Sales volume gained 7.2 percent over 2011, the Census and Statistics Department said today.
Sales in December slowed down compared with November.
Retail sales value advanced 8.8 percent year-on-year last month, down from 9.4 percent increase in November.
Growth in sales volume stayed at 8.1 percent in December, better than forecast 6.5 percent increase.
