Lenovo posts record profit in fourth quarter

China's personal computer maker, Lenovo (0992), is on track to become the world's biggest maker after it posted a record quarterly profit.
It earned more than US$204 million during the final three months of last year -- up by a third from same period in the previous year. The robust earnings came after the company gained more market share in the personal computer market and made inroads in the smartphone business, RTHK reports.
Lenovo is currently the second biggest computer maker, trailing closely behind Hewlett Packard.
