China, Saudi trade reaches record high

The trade between China and Saudi Arabia reached the highest level of US$73.4 billion in 2012, an increase by 14 percent as compared with 2011, according to Al Riyadh newspaper on Wednesday.
China has been marked for years as the largest trade partner for Saudi Arabia with US$18.45 billion in exports and US$54.95 billion in imports, the Chinese Ambassador Li Zhiwen told the newspaper, Xinhua news agency reports.
He said that the largest trade item between the two countries is the import of Saudi petroleum to China.
