Labor Party wants Legco probe on CY
(01-29 11:07)

The Labour Party has said it wants the Legislative Council to invoke the Powers and Privileges Ordinance, and call Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying, and Beijing advisor Lew Mon-hung, to testify over recent election allegations.
Last week, Lew claimed Leung had promised him a position on the Executive Council in return for his support in last year's chief executive election.
Speaking to RTHK, the Labour Party chairman, Lee Cheuk-yan, said it would seek support among fellow democrats for the move. Two political parties have lodged complaints with the ICAC over Lew's allegations, urging to anti-corruption body to investigate whether Leung had broken election laws.
Last night, the Chief Executive said he had not been contacted by the ICAC about any investigation.
But a legislator from the Neo Democrats said the anti-graft body had informed him they were looking into the matter.
