No benefits transfer involved in quarry sites plan: minister
(01-17 12:36)

Development minister Paul Chan Mo-po denied accusation that the idea of property developers' assistance in the development projects in four quarry sites is a form of transfer of benefits.
Chan said the government has experience of commissioning property developers on infrastructure projects in the past, stressing that there is nothing relating to transfer of benefits.
Meanwhile, Chan says the government is now studying how much land can be released if a moratorium on development in Pok Fu Lam and Mid-Levels is lifted.
Relaxing the restrictions was just one of many measures announced by the Chief Executive in his policy address yesterday, to increase land supply for the construction of more housing, RTHK reports.
"The relaxation of the moratorium is now still being studied. We looked at the development potential of the area other than private housing, we also would consider public housing," he said.
But, Chan said it would not be appropriate to disclose the exact figures because the study was still ongoing.
He said the government also needed to first go through internal approval procedures.
