Chopper crashes in central London
(01-16 16:52)

A helicopter crashed in central London, fire officials said today.
"We're attending reports of a helicopter crash near Wandsworth Road in South Lambeth,'' the fire brigade said in a Twitter message, while witnesses posted photographs on the website of a large pall of smoke rising into the sky, AFP reports.
The aircraft was said to collide with a crane on top of a residential building currently under construction.
Two cars were said to be involved in the incident, which happened during rush hour.
Smoke was visible near the River Thames after the helicopter spiralled to the ground in what eyewitnesses told Sky News looked like "a massive ball of flame."
