Lam Woon-kwong's term as the chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Commission has been extended to March 31, the government said today.
The existing term of office of Lam will expire on January 31, 2013. But to ensure the continuation of effective leadership at the EOC to perform its functions, Lam has been asked to stay in the position for two more months.
"The recruitment process of the post of the Chairperson of the EOC is still ongoing and at its final stage. Mr Lam's successor will be announced after completion of the recruitment process," a government spokesman said.
