ECB sits tight on rates
(01-10 20:54)
The European Central Bank decided to leave its main refinancing rate at a historic low of 0.75 percent at its first policy meeting of 2013.
No ECB watchers had been expecting the central bank to ease borrowing costs in the euro area this month, but analysts said they would listen out to see whether central bank chief Mario Draghi gives any hint as to when such a move might come, AFP reports.
The 17-country euro zone is in recession.
