Surveyors want new definitions on illegal structures

The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors wants the government to start differentiating between unauthorised building works that threaten public safety and those that are simply minor alterations. It says those that are dangerous should be removed, but other renovations should be allowed to remain indefinitely if they meet safety requirements, RTHK reports.
