CY 'very concerned' over doctored jobless data
(01-08 11:17)

The Chief Executive, Leung Chun-ying, says he is very concerned about a report that government officers misreported employment figures in household surveys.
The Ming Pao newspaper said yesterday that many officers of the Census and Statistics Department had not identified people as being jobless to avoid having to ask lengthy follow-up questions, RTHK reports.
Speaking ahead of the weekly Executive Council meeting, Leung said the government attached great importance to the statistics and their accuracy. He said he was very concerned about the allegations, and pledged that they would be investigated.
Leung cut short of his reply to reporters, as he said it was too noisy outside his office. Both Leung's supporters and protesters crowded outside the Tamar Government Headquarters yelling against each other in the morning.
