Home transactions slump in December

The number of sale and purchase agreements for residential units plunged 53 percent to 3,286 in December from November. It was down 23.6 percent from a year ago, according to data from the Land Registry.
The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements for residential units was US$17.2 billion, down 59 percent from November, and 33.1 less compared with December 2011.
For all buildings, the sale and purchase agreements totaled HK$41.5 billion involving 9,129 transactions.
