Applications for HOS flats to open for white form buyers
(01-03 14:49)
Applications for the scheme of extending the Home Ownership Scheme Secondary Market to White Form Buyers, with a quota of 5,000, starts tomorrow and ends January 18.
In case of over-subscription, ballots will be drawn, the Housing Authority said, which will vet eligibility in line with the priority for the quotas to be allocated by ballot.
A priority list of the 5,000 successful applicants will be announced in mid-May.
Approval letters will be issued to the first batch of 2,500 successful applicants in accordance with the priority list at the end of May and to the remaining 2,500 at the end of December, HA said.
Under the scheme, the income limit for family applicants is HK$40,000 per month and the asset limit is HK$830,000. The income and asset limits for singles are HK$20,000 per month and HK$415,000 respectively. The quota for family applicants is 4,500 whereas the quota for singles is 500.
Buyers who use the white form are not allowed to sell their flats with premium not yet paid on the HOS Secondary Market in the first two years after they have purchased the flats so as to prevent speculative activities in the secondary market. However, they are allowed to sell their flats in the open market anytime after they pay the premium.
