HK wakes up to third coldest new year’s eve
(12-31 10:17)
Hong Kong woke up today to the third coldest new year’s eve on record.
The Hong Kong Observatory said today the mercury had dipped to 7.1 degrees Celsius this morning, the third coldest new year's eve on record and also the lowest on new year's eve since 1983.
It attributed the chilly spell to an intense winter monsoon. The mornings will remain cold and dry until mid week this week.
