Hong Kong shares up 1.6pc at break

Hong Kong shares were 1.63 percent higher in the morning on bargain-hunting following two days of declines.

The Hang Seng Index ended the session 346.67 points up at 21,586.73.

Turnover was HK$33.23 billion.
