Third bite of the Apple is sweet for iPhone fans
(07-11 00:06)
It was the apple of the eye for iPhone fans as they snapped up the new 3GS phone during the sales launch in Hong Kong and Macau.

Hutchison Global Communications is pricing the 16-gigabyte version of the iPhone 3GS at HK$4,080 while the 32GB one comes at HK$4,880 along with a HK$138 monthly plan.

The spokesman for the mobile service provider, 3HK, said the phone lines were ringing off the hook with operators fielding thousands of inquiries following the announcement regarding the sales launch.

Many of the callers asked for products to be reserved for them.

The iPhone 3GS is available at all 3HK and Fortress outlets.

The marketing manager of Hutchison Global Communications eased fears over availability, saying supply will be enough to meet demand.
