Negative close in Tokyo

Stocks in Tokyo closed 0.15 percent lower after losses on Wall Street and as the US dollar took a breather from its recent rise against the yen. The benchmark Nikkei 225 index edged down 21.52 points to 14,567.16, while the Topix index of all first-section shares slipped 0.10 percent, or 1.22 points, to 1,204.19.—AFP
