Christophe Sapy adds modern touch to classics at Mandarin Oriental

Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong has named  Executive Pastry Chef Christophe Sapy to the hotel’s award-winning culinary team.

“Pâtisserie is an art form that is always evolving and has allowed me to really push the creative envelope. I believe in reinventing classic methods by adding my own personal contemporary adaptation to offer  memorable sweet encounters to guests,” says Chef Sapy. “My passion for pastry has given me so many wonderful experiences and now I’m honoured to be a part of this legendary hotel.”

Chef Sapy will oversee a team of 40 involving The Mandarin Cake Shop as well as the other dining outlets, room service, banquets, and offsite catering events.

The Frenchman was the mastermind of the pastry team at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok serving the most distinguished guests including the royal family of Thailand. Before coming to Asia in 2016, Chef Sapy played a pivotal role as an executive pastry chef for more than a decade at some of the leading luxury hotels in the United Arab Emirates, such as St. Regis, Shangri-la and Le Meridien.
