Summertime blues defines Brooks Brothers seasonal line
Thursday, April 04, 2019
Brooks Brothers unveiled today the men’s summer collection, which is a study in casual sophistication, and refinement that carries over to moments of leisure.
In a manner that is pure Brooks Brothers, the line redefines (and challenges) expectations of color, texture and fabrication.
Brooks Brothers has upgraded many summer favorites, in particular, an iconic fabric, linen, has been reworked into many of the key looks for a comfortable, lightweight approach to summer.
In a nod to the nautical tradition, a palette of summertime blues — from light to dark —defines the collection. Rich indigo and navy mix with surprising accent colors such as seafoam green, representing a new take on maritime hues.
Tailoring in an overcast blue-grey palette is subtly infused with glen plaid and windowpane patterns. A double-breasted, indigo-inspired sport coat pairs with white trousers and a floral tie. White and navy garment-dyed shorts match with classic oxford shirts and traditional cable-knit sweaters—now reworked in linen for layering—to evoke beachy, preppy style.
Later in the season, the collection is marked by clean neutrals and accented by muted shades reminiscent of sandy beaches and windswept desert plains. In rethinking the typical pastels, we’ve selected colors that lend sophistication while still being seasonally cheerful. In particular, the collection is punctuated by a dusty rose quartz tone—it’s seen in shorts and paired with a khaki-colored linen sweater, or paired as a T-shirt with novelty swim trunks and layered with a washed garment-dyed seersucker sport shirt in white. The range is avaialbe in Shops including 1096A, ifc mall, Central, Hong Kong and Times Square, Elements. and Harbour City.
Established in 1818, Brooks Brothers was the first to offer ready-to-wear clothing and has continued throughout history with iconic product introductions including: seersucker, madras, original button-down collar and the non-iron shirt.
