Shaanxi vice governor under investigation

Feng Xinzhu, vice governor of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, is under investigation for "severe disciplinary violations,", Xinhua reported.

Feng, born in 1960, became the first "tiger" taken down in the new year, the state news agency report said.

The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China, the country's anti-graft authority, has ousted corrupt officials all the way from low-level "flies" to high-ranking "tigers" since late 2012.
