Police in Wales have been removing drunks and beggars off the streets of Cardiff for nearly two weeks, following a rise in drinking, local media reports say.

Complaints from residents and visitors about the number of people begging and drinking in the streets of Cardiff city center have increased in recent months, Wales Online reports. About 40 alcoholic drinks have also been confiscated and 18 people have been arrested for begging, being drunk and disorderly, failing to appear at court and breaching dispersal orders.
