Mainland consumer price index up 1.9pc in October

China's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, rose 1.9 percent year on year in October, the National Bureau of Statistics said Thursday.

The pace accelerated from September's 1.6 percent. On a monthly basis, the index was up 0.1 percent, according to the bureau, Xinhua reported.
