Bank of England leaves interest rate unchanged

The Bank of England today left interest rates at a record low of 0.25 percent. It also decided to maintain government bond purchases at £435 billion and corporate bond purchases at £10 billion.

Two monetary policymakers, Michael Saunders and Ian McCafferty, however, have voted to raise rates to 0.5 percent.
