HK, Malaysia regulators agree to assist fintech firms

Hong Kong's securities regulator will share information and make referrals on innovative firms under a financial technology co-operation agreement with Malaysia.

The Securities and Futures Commission announced today it entered into an agreement with the Securities Commission Malaysia to establish a framework for cooperation.

Ashley Alder, the SFC’s chief executive officer, said in a statement: "Cooperation between regulatory counterparts in the region enables us to keep pace with rapid innovation in financial services.''
