Cancer-casing substances found in 46 cooking oil samples

Hong Kong consumer watchdog found in a study that 46 samples of cooking oil contained cancer-causing substances.

The Consumer Council tested 60 types of edible oil belonging to a variety of brands and found 46 samples had the toxic carcinogen glycidol. Five cooking oil samples contained phthalates that exceeded European Union standards.
