Lawmaker in court over flag desecration

Civic Passion lawmaker Cheng Chung-tai, (pictured), who was charged with a count of desecrating the national flag and desecrating the regional flags appeared in Eastern Magistrates Courts for pre-trial hearing today.

The case was adjourned until September 7 for trial hearing. The prosecution will summon four witnesses and play a 40-minute video as evidence.

Cheng is accused of inverting some of the national and regional flags that pro-establishment legislators had placed on their desks in Legislative Council October last year.
