Regional markets climbed today following an uptick in Chinese manufacturing.
MSCI's index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was up by 0.46 percent, reclaiming some of its loss on Friday, Reuters reports.
In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 average was up by 1.1 percent at 23,551.88 at the break.
In Seoul, stocks extended gains late morning. The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) edged up by8.63 points, or 0.41 percent, to 2,096.64 as of 11:20 a.m local time. The main index fell 0.7 percent in the past week.
In Ausrralia the S&P/ASX 200 was up by 0.61 percent at 6,887.70.
