Pro-democracy lawmakers today urged Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor to submit her resignation when she meets with Chinese vice-premier Han Zheng in Beijing on Wednesday.

In a press briefing, the opposition camp said the Hong Kong leader and her officials have lost the ability to govern.

It also expressed dissatisfaction over the police's law enforcement over the weekend, saying that their abuse of power has further intensified.
