Democratic Party lawmaker, James To Kun-sun, said it was unusual that the attack on his party colleague, Roy Kwong Chun-yu, was filmed.

He said after attacks, assailants tend to leave the scene as they do not want to leave any traces.

To said the government needs to treat the case very seriously.

"The very casual attitude of the Hong Kong government towards these kinds of political violence would send a very serious message to the whole world that Hong Kong is not a good place to invest, people's representative are under threat, and the whole democratic system is under threat."
