Lam Chi-wai, chairman of the Junior Police Officers' Association, said yesterday was the “darkest day” in the city's history, as the public saw how “violent thugs” use inhumane methods against innocent citizens and tourists, and the world also sees how Hong Kong was broken by violence.

He also said the policeman who drew his revolver inside the airport was professional, brave and stopped a serious wounding case. The union condemns the assilants, he said.
