More than ton of crystal meth seized in Thailand

Police in Thailand say they seized over a ton of crystal methamphetamine in a series of drug raids.
Police said in statements issued yesterday and today that they also seized over 10 million methamphetamine tablets this month.
They said they arrested eight people for trafficking over 5 million methamphetamine pills, 1,323 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, 34 pounds of heroin and 112 pounds of ketamine. The drugs were found Friday in a pickup truck hidden under fruit baskets and at a trafficker's home.
Police said they seized 1,012 pounds of crystal methamphetamine last week that they suspect originated from neighboring Myanmar. The drugs were found in the back of a pickup truck covered under a large green canvas. -AP. Photo: Bangkok Post/Thailand Police
