Veteran social activist Koo Sze-yiu, 73, has been found guilty of a count of desecration of the regional flag at the Eastern Magistrates' Courts today and was sentenced to six weeks of imprisonment.

Koo had pleaded not guilty to desecrating the Hong Kong SAR flag on Tim Mei Avenue in Admiralty on October 13, 2018.

Earlier today, the court ruled that Koo had a case to answer. He was not represented by a lawyer and did not defend himself and summon any witnesses.

He had previously been convicted and jailed for the same charge before.
