Tense session at bills panel, three ejected

There were more clashes today in Legco's House Committee meeting between opposition and the government side over the extradition bill amendments. Pan-democratic lawmakers raised questions over the constitutionality of a decision to dissolve the bills committee, RTHK reports.
The confrontation led to a brief adjournment at one point and the ejection of three opposition lawmakers from the meeting room.
Chairwoman of the House Committee, DAB's Starry Lee Wai-king, was constantly challenged by the opposition as the debate started on whether to accept its proposal to bypass a bills committee and table the controversial extradtonal law amendment bill to the full council.
When Lee called for a vote on a motion on whether to accept the government's move, some lawmakers got out of their seats, shouting their protests.
This led to a brief interruption of the proceedings and ended up in all Mo, Au Nok-hin and Chu Hoi-dick being ejected.-Photo: RTHK
