Coca-Cola emerges in Pop Art works

Business | 20 May 2019 7:16 pm

Artworks by painter, sculptor and visual artist, Sophie Costa, created with everyday upcycled materials, including items such as Coca-Cola cans and cassette tapes, are on display in Hong Kong until June 30, in a collaboration with Le French May and “Coca-Cola.''

The Coca-Cola can is one of Costa's most prominent symbols in her works. The idea of upcycling this everyday consumer object into her works adds an exciting three dimensional aspect strongly referencing the Pop Art movement. Her most famous works transform the cans into new shapes combined with emotive splashes of paint and fun slogans, such as: “Enjoy life” ! The works are being presented by Carré d’Artistes.
