For three months from Monday, Hong Kong will go after the rodents in the city, senior officials say.

A joint program is being undertaken in view of  three people being infected with  rat hepatitis E, the Chief Secretary Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, said at a special meeting of the Pest Control Steering Committee of the Food and Health Bureau.

A three-month cleaning campaign will be undertaken from May 20 to strengthen the prevention and control of rodents at hygiene black spots and focus areas, he said.
