Pound drops following collapse of Brexit talks, Labour says unable to bridge policy gaps

The UK currency, the pound sterling, fell by about 0.3 percent today versus the US dollar in the wake of the collapse of talks on Brexit between Labour and the Conservatives.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has said there are some areas where compromise has been possible, but “we have been unable to bridge important policy gaps between us.''

Corbyn also said the position of Prime Minister Theresa's May's government “has become ever more unstable and its authority eroded.''
