Investment bank positive on China shares

Investment bank UBS says there is upside for China’s equity market because there is little chance of policy tightening.

Crystal Zhao Mingran, director of asset allocation for Asia Pacific in global wealth management, the chief investment office, said the macroeconomic indicators were good in March.

There are expecations of further easing by the central bank, she said. But, if the real economic performance does not match the market forecast, the sentiment in the equity market might be negatively affected.

When asked about the rise in HIBOR, Zhao explained that the rate is benefiting from China’s performance and that initial public offerings impact on capital market liquidity.
