Premier Li Keqiang admitted in Beijing today the economy has slowed down, and that the GDP target for the year has been revised to between 6 percent and 6.5 per cent.

He was speaking when he met the media at the Great Hall of the People after the annual national legislative session wrapped up.

The second session of the 13th National People's Congress, started on March 5 and ended today.

China’s economy is facing additional downward pressure but Beijing will not let economic growth slip out of a reasonable range, Li said.

China’s economic growth of 6.6 percent in 2018 was hard-won, he said.
