Former Nissan and Renault chief Carlos Ghosn held talks with his lawyers about various issues, including when he should hold a news conference.

Ghosn was arrested and indicted on charges of financial misconduct in Japan. He is currently facing charges of aggravated breach of trust and underreporting his compensation as head of Nissan, NHK reports.

Last week, he was released on bail after being held for more than 100 days at a Tokyo Detention House. He denies all allegations.

He then filed a request with the Tokyo District Court to attend Nissan's board meeting set for Tuesday. But the court rejected the request on Monday.

After the meeting, Ghosn's defense team quoted him as saying he "needs more time," and said it will keep working to arrange a date for a news conference.

Lawyer Junichiro Hironaka said,"Mr Ghosn is OK with the idea of holding a news conference, but says that so long as he's going to hold one, he wants to decide thoroughly in advance what he will say. So he says he needs more time. It probably won't happen this week".

Hironaka also said Ghosn is worried about what will become of Nissan.

Attention is focused on what Ghosn will say about the prosecutors' investigations and Nissan's leadership.
