Marco Polo properties lift Wheelock hotels revenue to HK$2.2bBusiness | 12 Mar 2019 2:59 pm
Wheelock and Company reported today revenue of its hotels increased by 35 percent to HK$2.28 billion in 2018 from HK$1.68 billion, the year before.
This was largely attributed to the "robust performance from three Marco Polo Hotels and the soft openings of The Murray in Hong Kong,'' the company said.
But operating profit dropped by 9 percent to HK$345 million, from HK$381 million in 2017. This was mainly due to the absorption of initial operating loss of The Murray in Hong Kong, offset by the improved performance of Niccolo Chengdu in Mainland China, the company reports.
