Bay Area won't blur boundaries of 'two systems,' says Matthew Cheung

The Chief Secretary Matthew Cheung Kin-chung said Hong Kong and Macau have the advantages of "one country, two systems" in the Bay Area, so there will not be concerns about blurring the boundaries between the "two systems" as some fear.

Speaking in Beijing today, Cheung said the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is not only a new attempt to promote China's further opening-up in a new era but also to promote "one country, two systems."

He added that Hong Kong's status as a separate customs territory will not be affected.
