Activists, including former lawmaker Leung Kwok-hung and Raphael Wong Ho-ming, protested today outside the Hong Kong Ocean Park Marriot Hotel, where the "Symposium on Outline Development Plan for Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area took place."

They held banners and burned a photo of Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor. The banner declared, "selling Hong Kong for seeking glory."

Wong, the vice-chairman of the League of Social Democrats, said the Greater Bay Area weakens "one country, two systems" and tramples on Hong Kong people's wishes.

He added that the city had no choice but to spend a lot of public money to build high-speed rail and port facilities.
