Hang Seng turns green at midday

Stocks in Hong Kong advanced at midday today after opening lower.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose 0.37 percent, or 97.16 points, at 26,559.48 while the China Enterprises Index, the H-share gauge, added 0.46 percent, or 47.61 points, at 10,405.82.

Pharma stocks rallied. CSPC Pharmaceutical (1093), the biggest blue-chip gainer at break, soared 8.98 percent, or HK$1.02, to HK$12.38 while Sino Biopharmaceutical (1177) surged 8.27 percent to HK$ 5.50.

Apple supplier Sunny Optical Technology (Group) (2382) jumped 4.48 percent, or HK$2.85, to HK$66.4 and Chinese rice crackers maker Want Want China added 3.15 percent to HK$6.22.

Shares of Alibaba Health (0241) surged 8.01 percent to HK$6.88 after the company announced to continuously collaborate with U.S. pharmaceutical corporation Pfizer.
