Lantau Island tourist attraction Ngong Ping 360 said today Andy Lau, the current head of commerce, will take up his new role as acting managing director tomorrow, succeeding Stella Kwan.

Before the attraction opened in 2005, Lau had already joined the company. He had overseen the cable car business, retail and rental at Ngong Ping Village and actively expanded the company’s overseas and mainland markets and the e-commerce platform, helping the company maintain ideal guest numbers, according to a statement.

"With his solid experience in the retail and tourism industries, I believe he can lead the team to greater heights by continuing to serve our guests with heart, and bringing joy to local and international visitors," said Jeny Yeung, chairlady of Ngong Ping 360.

She also said after the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge in October, the number of visitors has reached a record high.

"In November, the average number of guests per day reached 7,000, breaking the same month record."
