Hong Kong Disneyland Resort has named Stephanie Young as the new managing director.

She will replace Samuel Lau Wing-kee, who is returning with his family to Orlando for a role with Walt Disney World, on February 1, 2019, the theme park says.

Young, a 26-year veteran of the company, had held leadership positions across the areas of operations, business, finance and information technology. She was the chief financial officer of the theme park between 2006 and 2009.

"I am thrilled to return to Hong Kong and work with the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort team to further grow the business," Young says.

"The city played an important part in the life of my family and I look forward to returning to work with the Hong Kong tourism industry in reinforcing its position as a premier tourist destination."
